From the airport and back
- Taxis are readily available at Fiumicino Airport and provide a convenient and comfortable option for reaching the city center. The taxi stand is located just outside the arrivals area. The journey to central Rome typically takes around 40 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Please note: The only authorized taxis are white cars with the TAXI light on top. Do not accept offers by people who are not authorized being taxi drivers.
- For those seeking a hassle-free transfer, private shuttle services and shared transfers are available. These services can be booked in advance and offer a door-to-door service, ensuring a smooth journey to your destination in Rome.
- The Leonardo Express train is a popular choice, connecting the Fumicino airport to the central Termini Station in approximately 30 minutes.
- Buses, such as the Terravision shuttle, also provide cost-effective transportation to key locations in Rome.

During your city break, your primary reliance will likely be on subway lines A and B. Ticket machines offer various options for purchasing tickets, and it’s essential to note that a single ticket is applicable for all modes of public transport under ATAC, encompassing metro, trams, buses (excluding tourist buses), and several regional trains (Trenitalia 2nd class, Roma-Lido, Rome-Viterbo, and Rome-Giardinetti).
